Day Spa Training Options
There is all kinds of day spa training options for the required certification programs to some helpful courses for the new spa owner. Just about every treatment offered in a spa requires a certified professional to do it.
There are many different certifications for all the different areas of service a spa can offer. For example, there are massage therapists, nail technicians, makeup artists, and estheticians, just to start with. Different types of massage may require different training. A nail technician that is going to do acrylic or gel nails will require different training than a tech that’s going to do a manicure. There are all kinds of day spa training options.
Many day spa training options include online courses that can be taken without ever leaving the comfort of the home. You mighty be surprised to learn that you can take traditional massage therapy, stone massage, body wraps, aromatherapy, and reflexology through online courses or through correspondence. You can also find training for cellulite, detoxification, and even hydrotherapy. That’s just a few of the online day spa training options.
And of course there are always the more traditional ways of day spa training – physically attending classes. There are universities and colleges across the country that offer a variety of different certifications, many specializing in spa management areas. There are also beauty schools across the country that can train from scratch and also offer refresher courses, and excellent option for someone who’s been working in the field but would just like a review of perhaps newer techniques.
How long the programs are depends on the school and also the material that will be covered. There are different levels of certification. Some courses can be under 500 hours while others such as those for a nail tech or esthetician can easily be more than 1500 hours of training.
If you decide to enroll in spa management day spa training it can be as little a four weeks or as much as two years, and some even offer a four year degree program. Courses taken online or through correspondence can often take longer than traditional classes because you aren’t dedicating the same amount of time per day.
Day spa training has a lot to offer your business. Sometimes it pays to go beyond just the necessary requirements and encourage your staff to better themselves and their career, which will benefit business.
